Four-Step Program: Unwanted Habits

When Challenges Happen

Sneaky Temptations

Many temptations can be sneaky.
You may find yourself automatically reaching out for something almost before you have time to think about what you are doing. Or, for example, when you are preparing a meal you might find yourself thinking that a glass of wine would go well with it. The urge is hardly noticeable and carries very little emotional want with it so it may slip under your radar.
Another sneaky temptation is when you find yourself doubting your own decisions and purposes. You find yourself thinking about your targets and wondering if you want to give up on your targets. Because these seem to be just logical thoughts they may not seem to be anything to worry about. Just thoughts? These are temptations and it is best to deal with them as soon as you can.
These temptations are important to recognise because if they go unchallenged they can grow over time and even more importantly, they show how delightfully tricky the human mind can be. Don't worry about these moments, they are perfectly normal and you can enjoy how inventive and subtle your mind can be. You can even laugh out loud and then remember to say 'No' to the temptation.
Here is a guided meditation that you may find useful. It is intended to build your resilience. It is in a cryptic form to reach your Automatic Mind, so don't expect to understand it at a conscious level!
